£21bn - Funding that regional development agencies have received over their lifetime. They have current commitments of £1.2 billion worth of projects and programmes as well as £500 million of land assets.

£200m - Sum allocated for a new homes bonus from next April which will match-fund the additional council tax raised for new homes for a further six years.

46,980 - Number of new-build affordable homes supplied in England in 2009-10. This is 81 per cent of the year's affordable home total, against 77 per cent the previous year.

24% - Proportion of England's new affordable homes located in London in 2009- 10. The South East had 19 per cent and the South West 11 per cent.

600 - Number of seats an aquatics centre in Aberdeen would hold, after plans were given the go-ahead by the city council. It is due to open in 2014.

24 - Number of local enterprise partnerships given the green light by the government to progress their proposals. These include Coast to Capital, Oxfordshire City Region, Tees Valley and West of England.
