Committee to question planning chiefs

Representatives from leading planning organisations will give evidence to the Commons communities and local government committee on Monday.

The committee will question them at the second evidence session for its inquiry into the government’s abolition of regional spatial strategies.

Witnesses will include RTPI head of policy Matt Thompson, Town and Country Planning Association chief planner Hugh Ellis and Campaign to Protect Rural England head of planning Fiona Howie.

There will also be representatives from the Shortwood Green Belt Campaign, Ringwood Town Council, Save the Countryside, the Woodland Trust and the SE Sustainability Forum.
