JMP to carry out York study

JMP is to undertake a study into movement and accessibility in York city centre.

The firm, working with landscape architects Camlin Lonsdale and heritage specialist PLB, will provide input for City of York Council as part of a city centre area action plan.

The council is looking at issues including the improvement of links for key development sites into the existing centre and the function of "footstreets" where pedestrians have priority through the middle of the day.

There will also be a review of improving links between the railway station and the city centre and strengthening pedestrian links with the riverside and between parks, streets and squares.
