John Silvester Associates secures Waverly commission

John Silvester Associates has been commissioned by Waverley Borough Council to set up two workshops with local community stakeholders to assist with new housing targets following the scrapping of the South East Plan.

The Surrey council carried out a four-week consultation as part of the local development framework process to inform a decision on the number of houses that should be built in the area in the next 15 years and beyond.

"It is important that planning authorities involve community stakeholders in developing evidence-based house building targets as part of the new localism agenda.

"Local people welcomed the opportunity to be more directly involved in planning the future of their area," said Silvester.
