Home policy queries grow

The tally of planning sector responses to the first official opportunity to respond to the government's planning policies has passed the 150 mark.

The Commons communities and local government committee told Planning that the responses are set to be on its website by the end of next week or soon after. The average number of responses to a committee inquiry is 60 to 80.

The committee, chaired by Clive Betts, will focus on the implications for house building following the government's abolition of regional housing targets.

It will also consider the likely effectiveness of the government's plan to incentivise local communities to accept new housing development in their area.
