Cultural landscapes and biodiversity heritage under scrutiny

The final publication in the European Environment Agency's Ten Messages for 2010 considers the state of Europe's cultural landscapes and biodiversity.

The report suggests that Europe's landscapes have become fragmented and homogenised due to urbanisation, development of transport infrastructure and intensive agriculture. As a result, Europe's biodiversity and multifunctional landscapes have been threatened.
