Liverpool walking tour gains insights behind city culture

A successful, although slightly damp, walking tour was held in Liverpool on 14 July.

Despite heavy rain and hail the tour, led by one of Liverpool's Blue Badge guides, snaked its way from Lime Street Concourse to Derby Square. The tour took in Lime Street, William Brown Street, Dale Street, Exchange Flags, Water Street and Castle Street. The tour identified unusual aspects of Liverpool's architecture and its impact on modern culture including where the name of the band Queen came from and the history of the lions on St George's Plateau. The walk was interesting and certainly left a lasting impression on those who attended.
