The Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy are seeking entries from local authorities, charities, schools and businesses to compete for eight UK prizes.
The projects must have been delivering sustainable energy at a local level for at least a year. They should have an element of innovation, benefit the environment and make a genuine difference to people's lives, socially and economically. The awards cover projects that provide a renewable supply including electricity and heat or reduce energy demand. Winning projects receive prize money of £30,000 each and the chance to bring sustainable solutions into the international arena. The deadline for entries is 28 October.
