The RTPI has launched a survey to assess the extent of its members' concerns about the difficulties in retaining and recruiting qualified planning staff and reports of pay cuts through job evaluation.
"We receive anecdotal evidence which suggests that members are dissatisfied with the public sector as a career option. But we don't know how widespread this is or how it affects the ability of authorities to deliver effective spatial planning services," said RTPI Planners in the Workplace manager Chris Sheridan.
The survey is available at www.rtpi.org.uk/cgi-bin/item.cgi?id=1719.
