Planning for Water including PPS25 Development and Flood Risk

15 May. RTPI East of England. Orton Longueville, Peterborough.

Planning for water and the risk of flooding remain high on the agenda. The RTPI East of England has joined with the Environment Agency to link speakers from national and local government, the insurance industry, environmental consultants and private sector companies that plan for water. The morning session will look at planning to avoid flood risk and the afternoon will examine surface water management.

This event will look at what the current regional economic strategy means for planning practitioners and what the change to a single regional strategy could bring. The event will look at best practice on the ground in planning positively for development at local level.

- Rural Planning Update

11 June. RTPI Yorkshire. Sheffield.

The interaction between economical, environmental and social factors in rural areas is becoming complex, with various interests and agencies involved in a congested policy development process. This conference will explore key issues for the role of planning, with case studies on how authorities are rising to the challenge.
