The UK is not going to solve its housing problems without there being some kind of rapprochement between the forces of conservation and development.
So when the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) announced that it is "sympathetic towards the eco-towns initiative", hope blossoms like an early spring. There could still be damaging frosts...
