Our future might lie in Keynesianism

As the global financial vortex sucks down one investment bank after another, and media pundits vie in pronouncing this to be the greatest crisis since 1931 (or 1900, or the 1720 South Sea Bubble), what does it mean for regeneration? Bad news, is the immediate reaction. Bad news generating better tidings, might be a more measured response.

No-one should doubt that the immediate consequences will be dire. Even before the latest Wall Street mayhem, major commercial projects were teetering on the brink as bank funds dried up....
