Regeneration & Renewal's National Conference 2009
With an uncertain economic climate, a potential administration change and the new Homes and Communities Agency, it has never been more crucial for regeneration professionals to make sure they have up-to-date information and learnings to ensure they are working effectively to complete existing projects and effectively plan for the future.
With particular emphasis on shifting foci during challenging economic times, key sessions at 2009's conference will explore how to:
1. Optimise partner working to ensure the completion of projects in progress and the commitment of investors to future developments
2. Operate under the Sub-National Review. Find out how far power will be devolved down from the RDAs and what the impact of that will be on your authority
3. Negotiate with developers to meet housing needs and prioritise housing growth in times when expenditure must be minutely justified by returns
4. Work with the nascent Homes and Communities Agency to best benefit your area
5. Upskill your local workforce to meet the needs of and encourage business into your area
6. Deploy innovative ways of generating revenue to fund regeneration projects
7. Plan for the future with specialist insights from economists, government representatives, investors and developers
Continuing on from the success of previous years, this conference is separated into three concurrent streams focusing on economic development, community renewal and physical regeneration respectively to allow you to tailor the day to your particular needs and experience.
