Course seeks to build skills

Planning, 18 July 2008

Northern Ireland planners can now get regeneration training courtesy of a British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) initiative.

The educational scheme is intended to serve as a professional introduction to the sector. It will be based in Belfast with environmental charity Groundwork.

BURA head of training and skills Jane Cheshire said: "The course will help delegates develop the knowledge and confidence required to make a success of their regeneration responsibilities."

Northern Ireland training programme co-ordinator Richard Rose said: "Groundwork's regeneration resource centre is a state-of-the-art facility and is perfect for the kind of interactive training seminars we deliver throughout the UK."

The programme will run from September. For more information, email Richard Rose at richard@bura.org.uk or call 020 7539 4049.
