Transport planning specialist MVA Consultancy has launched a UK-wide competition aimed at encouraging school-leavers to consider a career in the industry.
Shadow transport secretary Theresa Villiers opened the 1,500-word essay writing assignment, which asks students to discuss sustainable transport policy. The winner will have their fees paid for a transport-related undergraduate degree.
The search is part of the firm's 40th anniversary celebrations and aims to help tackle the shortage of skills in the sector. The closing date for entries is 4 August and the winner will be announced early in September.
