The Advisory Team for Large Applications (ATLAS) has opened a new Birmingham office and completed a raft of appointments and promotions across England.
In Birmingham, Stephen Hill will support projects in the West Midlands Region.
Hill joins as senior planning manager from Lichfield District Council where he was development executive with responsibilities for Development Control, Building Control, Conservation and Urban Design.
He is joined by planning managers, Julian Pye and Anthony Keown.
Pye joins from Telford and Wrekin council where he was area planning team leader and Keown from South Gloucester council where he was urban design and policy officer.
In Milton Keynes Fionnula Lennon has joined the team as planning manager from South Dublin council, where she was project managing the Adamstown SDZ project, and will provide support for projects across the East Midlands region.
Abigaile Bromfield, senior planning manager, moves internally from covering South East projects to lead work across the East Midlands.
In its Bristol office ATLAS has appointed Ian Collinson who has joined as planning manager from Bristol council where he specialised in dealing with large scale city centre proposals and applications.
ATLAS was set up by the Department for Communities and Local Government as a pilot at the end of 2004 to establish whether an independent advisory service could help local authorities improve quality and speed up delivery of large development proposals (over 500 dwelling units).
It now operates in six Government office regions – East, London, South East, South West, East and West Midlands.
