The University of Aberdeen has launched two further postgraduate programmes in planning and surveying in response to rising demand for skilled professionals.
Applications for a September start in both courses - MScs in urban planning and real estate and in rural planning and environmental management - are now open.
The one-year masters are dual-accredited by the RTPI and RICS. The rural planning course will also be offered part-time over two years.
Spatial planning professor Bill Neill said: "Predictions suggest that the built and natural environment industry will experience a grave shortage of professionals in specific areas very soon."
He added: "The degrees are an immediate reaction to this imminent skills shortfall. They have been developed with the industry's requirements to the fore."
"The 12-month degree is in response to feedback from employers in the field who will significantly benefit from the fast-track element of the programme."
