DCLG to face court action

The DCLG is to face court action over its consultation on home information packs. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors has begun judicial review proceedings against the department, claiming that it failed to consult properly before implementing legislation. The packs would require homeowners to compile title deeds and an energy performance certificate. But there are fears that a delay will set back efforts for greener homes (Planning, 4 May, p1).
