Brixton town centre redevelopment earns funding

Brixton town centre's redevelopment has earned £8 million of funding for a public square - £4.5 million from the London Development Agency and £3.5 million from Transport for London. The project, which will bring together Tate Gardens and Windrush Square, is the first phase of a broader regeneration plan. Subject to planning approval, work could start early next year and be complete by mid 2009.
