Nuclear chief wins top role

Consultancy White Young Green (WYG) has appointed the former chief executive of British Nuclear Group as its chief executive officer.

Lawrie Haynes will take up the post from July, replacing John Purvis who is retiring. Haynes's recent experience in the energy and transportation sectors, which have been identified as areas of growth for the firm, was a particular reason for his appointment.

Prior to heading up British Nuclear Group, he was Highways Agency chief executive and managing director at Lattice Group.

WYG chairman Peter Wood said: "I am delighted that we have recruited such a capable and experienced chief executive. His expertise will allow us to continue to grow as a leading multidisciplinary consultancy."
