Whitesmore School site

Plans to build 85 homes on part of the soon to be redundant Whitesmore School in Fordbridge have been granted permission by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Developed by Bellway as part of its work for the North Solihull Partnership, the scheme will comprise 61 three and four-bedroom houses and 24 two-bedroom flats. Work to improve the nearby Chapelhouse recreation ground will also be carried out. Receipts from the land sale, projected to amount to £15 million, will be used to fund community facilities.
