Proposals for Ashford revamp revealed

Proposals to open up Ashford town centre through a £10 million revamp of its ring road were revealed last week. The Kent County Council scheme aims to give cars and pedestrians equal priority, make the ring road two-way and slow down traffic by narrowing carriageways and introducing a 20mph speed limit. Public squares featuring art works would be created at several of the road's main intersections.
