Plans to improve east Lancashire's image and economy

Plans to improve east Lancashire's image and economy will be worked up by consultants Anthony Wilson and Yvette Livesey. The duo have been commissioned by pathfinder Elevate East Lancashire to build on a discussion paper produced last year that suggested ideas on how sport and culture could improve the area. Concepts include a fashion tower, football theme park, extreme sports centre, public spaces in town centres, canalside living and renaming the area Pennine Lancashire. Residents will be consulted on which proposals go forward.
