Howard to regenerate

A key site on Weymouth seafront is to be regenerated by developer Howard Holdings as part of a £90 million redevelopment of the pavilion and ferry terminal area. The company, chosen by Weymouth and Portland Borough Council, will work with Barlow Henley Architects on the scheme. The project is designed to capitalise on the 2012 Olympic Games, at which Weymouth and Portland will stage sailing events, and boost the resort with community, leisure and tourism amenities. A theatre, ferry facility, passenger terminal, 150-berth marina, four-star hotel and public square all feature in the scheme.
