St Helens improvements

Work has started on the first phase of a £6.2 million series of public realm improvements in St Helens town centre. Landscape architects Taylor Young have designed a series of improvements intended to ensure that the town can continue to compete with other shopping centres in the region. The firm has been working in partnership with the council's engineering team on the three-year project over the past two-and-a-half years. Artists Atoll have also been engaged to integrate public art into the scheme designs. The contractor is Mayfield.
