Ambitions for Stevenage town centre

A document setting out ambitions for the large-scale regeneration of Stevenage town centre has been adopted by the borough council. The supplementary planning document (SPD) sets the agenda for a significant rise in the number of people living in the town. It also provides guidance for retail development, including a department store, and leisure facilities. The move aims to push forward negotiations with developers ING Real Estate Development and Stanhope PLC, the council's preferred consortium to deliver the town's renewal. The SPD can be viewed via www.PlanningResource.co.uk.
