HLF grant secured

A £50,000 Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant has been secured to help pitch for further funding to build a major aquarium at London's Silvertown Quays in the Royal Docks. The money for the Zoological Society of London's Biota! attraction will go towards preparing an application for an HLF grant of up to £5 million. The London Development Agency will also provide £30,000 for the bid. Biota!, which will feature exhibits in a central atrium and two biomes, is due to open in 2008.
