Macclesfield Borough Council chooses developers

Macclesfield Borough Council has chosen five developers to flesh out how to redevelop sites in the town centre. Tesco property arm Spen Hill Developments and Deutsche Bank Real Estate will compete against Asda and Cathco Property Group, HBG Properties Ltd, Countryside Properties and Wilson Bowden. All the companies' initial plans included a supermarket and anchor department store for a development west of Churchill Way. A public consultation begins in July.
