Super-surgeries to be created in Greater Manchester

Three super-surgeries are set to be created to boost health care services in some of Greater Manchester's most deprived neighbourhoods. A total of £12 million will be spent on Local Improvement Finance Trust projects in Openshaw and Brunswick in Manchester and Lower Kersal in Salford. The centres will house 16 GPs and facilities including pharmacies, dental surgeries, physiotherapy centres, counselling and a citizens advice bureau. Developer Laing O'Rourke has begun work on the centres, which are due to open before the end of next year.
