Northern Ireland environmental lobbyists

Environmental lobbyists warned that Northern Ireland's government is failing to crack down on water pollution last week. A poll commissioned by Friends of the Earth, Lough Neagh fishermen and local anglers found that 82 per cent of respondents believe the Department of the Environment (DoE) is failing to reduce water pollution. The results increase the pressure on the DoE to move responsibility for pollution control to an environmental protection agency.
