Warrington Borough Council found guilty

Warrington Borough Council has been found guilty of maladministration over breaches of planning control. A resident complained that the authority had taken no action over a garden nursery and greenhouse that he claimed were developed without permission next to his property. The local government ombudsman found that the council failed to act quickly enough. The authority was requested to pay the resident £750 and to review the way it deals with planning breaches.
