A study on Scottish travel plans

A detailed study of travel plans throughout Scotland is to be carried out by Halcrow for the Scottish Executive. With traffic north of the border set to increase by 27 per cent over the next 20 years, the executive wants to minimise the impact on the environment by reducing the level of unnecessary travel and limiting greenhouse gas emissions. The six-month project aims to provide a clear picture of green travel planning by consulting local authorities, regional bodies, transport partnerships and employers. The results will identify barriers to travel planning and possible solutions.
