Theme park given go-ahead by Medway Council

A theme park based on the works of Charles Dickens has been given the go-ahead by Medway Council. Dickens World will feature rides based on his novels and reproduce street scenes of Victorian London. The 133,776m2 complex, designed by Kemp Muir Wealleans, will be built on St Mary's Island at Chatham Maritime. The park is due to open in 2007.
