London Development Agency buys land

Land worth £5 million has been bought by the London Development Agency to build an environmental technology resource centre in Dagenham, east London. It is hoped that the 2.6ha centre, which will act as abase for recycling research, will kick-start a hi-tech environmental industry park at Dagenham Dock. The agency also announced that £10 million will be invested in rebuilding and modernising roads, with a further £3 million to pay for electricity supplies for future development. The scheme is a partnership between the agency and the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
