London Riverside plans to go-ahead

Plans for a key commercial development at the 135ha London Riverside site, one of the largest renewal projects in the east London section of the Thames Gateway, have been given the go-ahead by the London Borough of Havering. The London Development Agency's Beam Reach 8 scheme in Rainham will feature 105,100m2 of office, industrial and storage space built over 12ha. It will aim to boost local employment prospects by helping people develop hi-tech engineering and manufacturing skills. London Riverside comprises mainly industrial workspace and includes Dagenham Dock and the Ford Motor Company's Dagenham site.
