McClure to retire

The founding chairman of Londonderry's urban regeneration company Ilex is set to retire. Alan McClure will step down from his role at the end of June. The agency was established in July 2003 to drive renewal in the Londonderry area. The first phase of its work, a baseline study that will feed into a long-term regeneration masterplan for the city, was completed last month. Northern Ireland ministers Ian Pearson and John Spellar praised McClure's commitment and determination to pursue the regeneration of the area.
