Arup selected to write design handbook for guided busways

Arup has been selected to write a design handbook for guided busways. The project for Britpave, the British In-Situ Concrete Association, will aim to tackle transport congestion with buses that can run on either roads or tram tracks. The handbook will set out best practice for promoters and designers of guided bus schemes and will cover low-speed urban applications as well as larger style busway systems. Planning issues, track types and construction, vehicle types and loading, access for the disabled, vehicle speeds and guideway alignment will feature among the range of topics to be covered.
