Business briefs: Links between transport and sustainable development ...

Links between transport and sustainable development in Yorkshire and Humber are to be investigated by transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave to help form policies for the emerging regional spatial strategy. The study, for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Assembly, will form the basis of a tool kit designed to help ensure that sustainable development principles are at the heart of transport policies for the region. The firm will look at how sustainability appraisals have influenced the area's transport policies, the constraints that national policies place on integration and potential conflicts between transport policies and sustainable development goals.
