In brief: Planning application for Ilminster submitted

A planning application for a major mixed-use development on land at Ilminster was submitted to South Somerset District Council this week. The application, submitted by Alder King on behalf of Horlicks Farms and Dairies Ltd, is for a 28ha business park alongside housing and public open space next to the junction of the A303 and A358. The scheme would provide headquarters for local company Gooch & Housego on a site previously used by a farm and dairy business. A masterplan for the development has been prepared by Bristol-based company Atkins Walters Webster.
