In brief: Wind farms are necessary says opinion poll

Almost three-quarters of the population agree that wind farms are necessary to help meet energy needs in the UK, according to an opinion poll carried out for the British Wind Energy Association (BWEA). The association is launching a new campaign, called Embrace the Revolution, which aims to challenge the notion that wind farms are unpopular, noisy and a blot on the landscape.
