Casebook: Appeal cases - Transport facilities. Cycle link route backed despite biker threat

An inspector has upheld an appeal by Sustrans Ltd for the construction of a multi-use path in Nottinghamshire as part of the national cycle network, concluding that it would be safe and was not too circuitous. The inspector agreed with a local resident that the path could be abused by motorbike riders, but concluded that potential abuse by a minority was a very poor reason to deny the benefits of the development to others.
