Regeneration News: Retailer John Lewis agrees deal

Retailer John Lewis has agreed a deal to open its first store in Wales with an outlet in the £500 million St David's 2 development in Cardiff city centre. The 22,300 sq m store will form part of the 93,000 sq m shopping centre, which is expected to create 1,000 construction jobs and 2,500 permanent jobs. Detailed planning permission will be sought later in the year and the opening of the scheme, an extension to the St David's Centre, is anticipated by 2008.
