IN BRIEF: Application for redevelopment of Wembley Central shopping centre

An application for a £40 million redevelopment of the 1960s Wembley Central shopping centre has been submitted by St Modwen Developments. The scheme would replace the centre's front section and acquire extra frontage to create more than 20 shops and restaurants and leisure facilities. An adjacent office block, Ramsey House, would be converted into a 120-bedroom hotel. The development is being brought forward to try and meet the timescale for the reopening of Wembley Stadium.
