A £2.5 million centre for sustainable construction in Somerset has received planning permission from Taunton Deane Borough Council. The Genesis Centre, at the Somerset College of Arts and Technology in Taunton, will aim to promote sustainable construction to both the public and industry through interactive exhibitions, events and training courses. The centre will feature several pavilions built from environmentally friendly materials such as straw, timber, earth and clay along with a water pavilion made from Perspex to allow visitors to see how rainwater can be recycled.
