BUSINESS BRIEF: Urban Initiatives have been appointed ...

Urban Initiatives have been appointed to lead a design team redeveloping the entrance to Liverpool's Lime Street Station by English Partnerships. The scheme aims to provide a visual landmark to accompany the grade II listed station building in time for the city's celebrations as European Capital of Culture in 2008. Interior improvements are also planned. Network Rail and Liverpool City Council are supporting the project, which will be managed by Liverpool Vision. A planning application is scheduled for next summer.
