NEWS IN BRIEF: Guidance to help deliver basic services to people ...

Guidance to help deliver basic services to people in rural areas through one-stop shops was published by the Countryside Agency this week. The guidance contains the results of case studies in eight English market towns where health, education and employment services are delivered via a single outlet. These can be used to help other rural towns and villages, according to the agency. Chairman Ewen Cameron said that providing more one-stop shops will also produce economies of scale. Setting Up One-Stop Shops is available from Countryside Agency Publications (tel) 0870 120 6466.
