REGENERATION BRIEF: BPF produces guide to BIDs

The British Property Federation (BPF) has produced a guide to business improvement districts (BIDs), legislation for which takes effect next April. It says that getting involved in BIDs, where businesses pay an additional levy to the local authority in return for improvements such as better street furniture and security, "make sense for property owners". International experience showed that businesses involved in BIDs were "good corporate citizens". The guide is available from the BPF (tel) 020 7828 0111.
