Moves round-up: Barton Willmore, Hampshire County Council, Savills...

News of a series of promotions at planning consultancy Barton Willmore features in our round-up of appointment stories.

Planning consultancy Barton Willmore has promoted Andrew Wilford to planning director, from associate. Willard, who is based in the firm’s Ebbsfleet office, joined the practice in 2005. The firm has also promoted Emma Wrethall, Josh Mellor, Jane Wildblood, Liam Tate, Chris Atkinson, Hannah Walker, Nina Sharp and Tom Rice to senior planner positions, while Gemma Johnson and Iain Hynd have been promoted to planning associates. Katie Harley and Tudor Jones have been promoted to associate planners.

Melissa Spriggs has been promoted to the role of planning policy manager within Hampshire County Council’s strategic planning team. In her new role, Spriggs will be leading Hampshire County Council’s minerals and waste policy team, specifically concentrating on delivering contracts on behalf of other organisations in addition to monitoring and reviewing the county’s own plan.

Consultancy Savills has appointed Charlie Collins to lead a new merged planning team covering Kent and Surrey. The firm said that the move to combine the two teams, based in Sevenoaks and Guildford, had been made to accommodate continuing growth. Collins, a director at the firm, will move into the new role from his current position leading the Guildford office.

Aitchison Raffety, a practice of chartered surveyors and town planners, has appointed Andrew Gray as a planning consultant within its planning and development division. Gray will be based in the company’s Northampton office.

Lancashire planning consultancy PWA Planning has appointed chartered town planner Louise Leyland. She joins the firm from environmental planning consultancy Stephenson Halliday, where she was an environmental planner and Environmental Impact Assessment coordinator. Leyland began her planning career as a planning assistant at Wyre Borough Council before working for a number of years at environmental consultancy Myriad CEG.

Sinead Turnbull has been promoted to the post of associate planner in the Rugby office of consultancy DLP Planning. Turnbull, who joined the firm in 2015, is currently working on projects including large residential schemes in Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, together with heritage cases.
