Garden villages to build homes fit for Britain, by Lord Matthew Taylor

In January last year the Policy Exchange think tank and I proposed giving local authorities the option to acquire low-grade agricultural land not normally available for development, but well located to create new small-scale "garden villages" through a modernisation of the New Towns Act. On Budget day, the Government committed to take that action.
