In a statement issued today, Turley said that Trimingham, who has been at the firm for 16 years, will provide an "operational lead", while Rob Lucas will continue as chief executive "with a sharpened strategic focus".

The statement said that, from 1 June, Trimingham will take responsibility for "all operational matters" within Turley’s business across its network of 11 offices in the UK.

Trimingham said: "Turley is a unique business and I am delighted to have been asked to be its MD. I look forward to leading further development and growth of our services as we help our clients to deliver great development and shape better places throughout the UK."
